Desi Gutierrez scored 20 points with 16 rebounds to lead San Clemente to a 69-64 home win over Tesoro in South Coast League boys basketball on Monday in the final game of the regular season for both teams.
The Tritons win gave them a share of the league championship. San Clemente and Tesoro finished 7-1 in league.
Bryan Blake scored 16 points for San Clemente, which is 18-10 overall. Braeden Baggs scored eight points with 12 rebounds for the Tritons.
Tesoro had won 10 in a row going into Monday’s game. The Titans’ previous loss was a tournament loss to St. Anthony on Dec. 27 in the Ringo Bossenmeyer Holiday Classic at Tustin High.
San Clemente is No. 15 in The Orange County Top 25 that has Tesoro at No. 13.
Both teams will play in the CIF Southern Section playoffs that begin next week. Playoff brackets will be released Saturday at noon.
