Mitty’s McKenna Woliczko chosen for McDonald’s All-American game

SAN JOSE – McKenna Woliczko is a McDonald’s All-American.

The Archbishop Mitty five-star forward and Iowa commit was selected to the McDonald’s All-American girls basketball team that was announced Monday afternoon.

Woliczko currently ranks as the consensus No. 6 player in the class of 2026, according to the major recruiting services.

The game will be played on March 31 at the Desert Diamond Arena in Phoenix. Woliczko will compete for the West team.

Each of the teams has 12 players from its region of the United States. The McDonald’s game is historically the premier showcase for the top senior basketball players in the country.

Woliczko is the second Mitty girls player to make the team in three seasons and the fourth overall. Morgan Cheli, now at UConn, was a McDonald’s All-American in 2024.

Former Mitty stars Haley Jones (2019) and Rometra Craig (2000) also made the team.

When Aaron Gordon starred at Mitty, he played in the McDonald’s boys game in 2013, earning game MVP honors.

For Woliczko, her recognition comes just weeks after she returned from a year-long absence after suffering a torn ACL in January 2025 and fulfills a major goal of hers.

When the news broke, Aaron Woliczko sent a text to his daughter that he shared with the Bay Area News Group.

“Your mind is an amazing thing kiddo! You had this on your “lifetime achievement” goals since you 1st got serious about hoop. Fricken. So amazing!!” Aaron Woliczko wrote.

Mitty is 9-1 since Woliczko made her season debut against Clovis on Jan. 2, with its only loss coming against national powerhouse Ontario Christian in double overtime.

In a postgame interview after her return to the court, Woliczko said, “Don’t get me wrong, I was very nervous, maybe even cried a little bit, just because that’s how I handle my emotions. But there’s nothing wrong with that, and that’s how I’ve been able to deal with my emotions in the past. So it was nothing new today. Not too different.”
