Alabama’s 42-week streak in the AP Poll has come to an end. The Crimson Tide are no longer ranked in the top 25 following a blowout loss Sunday at Florida.
Four SEC teams are ranked, led by Vanderbilt at No. 15. Alabama is one of five conference programs to receive votes but not crack the top 25. Interestingly, Texas A&M, which is atop the conference standings, is also unranked but next in line when it comes to votes. The Aggies and Crimson Tide play this week, and the winner could crack next week’s top 25.
Arkansas had been the SEC’s highest-ranked team, but John Calipari’s Razorbacks dropped 6 spots after losing to Kentucky. Vanderbilt moved up 3 spots after going 2-0 in the week with wins over Kentucky and Ole Miss.
Florida moved up 2 spots after blowout wins over South Carolina (95-48) and Alabama (100-77). Tennessee is back in the top 25 after extending its winning streak to 3 games with victories over Georgia and Auburn.
