Armed goons terrorizing our cities, breaking down doors to seize American citizens, disappearing people without due process is unconstitutional and immoral and must stop.
When will Congress act? Only when we the people insist that they don’t compromise on the key issues:
-Defund ICE -Reduce the budget and scope of Homeland Security
-Legislate enforceable limits on their unconstitutional actions on our streets
Indivisible Ukiah spokesperson Janet Rosen reminds us “right now it’s easy to pretend it can’t happen here. But the spending bill is coming up in Congress and as soon as the ICE budget increases and their hiring spree of minimally trained people is ready, it can and WILL happen all across the United States of America.”
We call on all Americans to contact their elected representatives in Washington to stand firm on reining in ICE (5calls.org makes it easy).
We call on all Americans who believe in democracy, civil rights, and the rule of law to stand up for those principles.
Indivisible Ukiah is a group of volunteers promoting community resilience and defending civil rights and participatory democracy through peaceful demonstrations and direct action. A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolence. We remind all participants to ignore provocations and help our Safety Team de-escalate by keeping clear space around any perceived problems.
