Year 2 of the Tom Brady broadcaster experience has been far more enjoyable than the first year — and not just because he has nice things to say about the Chicago Bears. Although, that doesn’t hurt.
All kidding aside, Brady’s second year as a broadcaster was better than his first (in part) because of how he has successfully leaned into his personality and his experience as a player to deliver insight that is unique to him as an analyst. And if there is one thing I vibe with the most, it is authenticity.
With that being said, Tom Brady has a lot of love to share when discussing Chicago’s football team. And with good reason, too. The Bears were good (11 wins, NFC North champs, four Pro Bowlers, three All-Pros) and entertaining (seven come-from-behind wins, ninth-highest scoring offense, a defense that led the league in takeaways) this season. So it should come as no surprise that the Bears were in line to receive some hardware from the future Hall of Famer.

BEARS CB NASHON WRIGHT IS TOM BRADY’S BEST VALUE PLAYER
Watching to Tom Brady, a quarterback through-and-through, talk about a defensive player’s contributions makes for a fun 93 seconds. And Nahshon Wright clearly appreciated it:
Much Love??? t.co/dath9GfdUy
— Nahshon Wright (@nahwrig) February 1, 2026Tom Brady on Nahshon Wright:
“He had a tremendous season. He was an absolute turnover machine. The Bears, they didn’t do a great job between the 20s. OK? The ball was move a lot. But when it came down to turning the ball over, they were better than every team in the league and he was a huge reason why. Intercepting passes, strip sacks, fumbles, fumble recoveries. What he did on a vet minimum contract or something like that, but what I saw with my eye test, he is the value player of the year. Congratulations, you’ve earned yourself quite a contract in the future.”
Last week, Nahshon Wright was informed that he was going to the Pro Bowl. This week begins with arguably the greatest quarterback to ever lace ’em up showering him with praise. What a week for the 27-year-old cornerback. Wright played in all 17 games this past season and set career bests in interceptions (5), passes defended (11), total tackles (80), solo tackles (54), forced fumbles (2), fumble recoveries (3), and tackles-for-loss (3). He also contributed his first quarterback hit and pick-six this season. It all added up to Wright earning a 65.1 overall grade from Pro Football focus, which ranked him 48th of 114 qualifying cornerbacks. Grading out among the top half of your peers means you did something right.

Mandatory Credit: David Banks-Imagn ImagesI imagine this dream year for Wright could lead him to getting a hefty pay raise in free agency. But, considering the Bears’ needs elsewhere, I’m not sure if there is a perfect fit in Chicago. For what it’s worth, Wright has been vocal about being open to a return. And if the price is right, I wouldn’t be totally against it happening. But we’ll see how things play out on that front later in the offseason.
BEARS-PACKERS PROVIDES THE CALL OF THE YEAR
More love from the G.O.A.T. as the best call of the year goes to TB’s broadcast partner – Kevin Burkhardt and his Week 16 call of the overtime thriller between Chicago and Green Bay:
??️ @TomBrady's first-ever #LFG Call of the Year just had to go to the one and only @kevinburkhardt for his amazing call in Week 16 during @packers vs @ChicagoBears! pic.twitter.com/KEQeXN3IeO
— FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) February 1, 2026“Listen, I got so excited I started yelling. I lost my mind,” Brady said while reflecting on the moment. “We had so much fun calling that game. The excitement was off the charts. The stadium was buzzing. The promise was sky high for that Chicago Bears team. And my boy KB with the call of the year, I got goosebumps just thinking about it.”
When was the last time the Bears made a broadcaster feel goosebumps? Don’t worry, I’ll wait for your answer…
BEN JOHNSON SHARES COACH OF THE YEAR HONORS WITH SUPER BOWL PARTICIPANTS (AND LIAM COEN)
One for the road as Brady splits his coach of the year honors:
So many coaches this season deserved recognition, so @TomBrady is handing out four #LFG Coach of the Year awards ?Congrats to @ChicagoBears' Ben Johnson, @Patriots' Mike Vrabel, @Seahawks' Mike Macdonald, and @Jaguars' Liam Coen on great seasons!!? pic.twitter.com/h7BkjhZvdC
— FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) February 1, 2026Is it a cop out to name multiple coaches as your coach of the year? Sure. Am I going to argue about it? Nah. TB is right. There were some great coaching jobs. Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson, along with his contemporaries with the New England Patriots (Mike Vrabel), Seattle Seahawks (Mike McDonald), and Jacksonville Jaguars (Liam Coen) all did wonderful things to lead their respective teams to victory. I don’t have a vote for the NFL’s Coach of the Year honors. But if I did, I’d lose sleep over who I’d pick in that No. 1 spot.

Mandatory Credit: Eric Hartline-Imagn ImagesIn the end, I find myself wishing that FOX had the Super Bowl this year because I believe Tom Brady has gotten so much better at the gig that I actually want to hear his insight. Sigh. I also wish the Bears were in the big game so we could hear his thoughts watching Caleb Williams. Maybe we’ll get it in 2028, which is when FOX is scheduled to have broadcasting rights to the Super Bowl.
