It will be interesting to see how things shake out with Mike LaFleur and the Arizona Cardinals. Who starts at quarterback? Will Kyler Murray get another chance with his third different head coach? Is he even a fit for a coach who comes from the McVay tree? There is potential for some fun storylines out west. Don’t get me wrong. There is a ton of heavy lifting to do before the Cardinals become relevant, let alone competitive. But it’s not as if there isn’t a path to get out of the mess.

I can’t front. The pending hires of Klint Kubiak with the Raiders and Mike LaFleur with the Cardinals seem like decent hires. For what it’s worth, I feel like Ben Johnson’s hiring with the Bears last offseason (and the moves that followed) provided a blueprint for teams hiring young, offensive-minded head coaches. MLF 2.0 is a worthwhile roll of the dice for Arizona. And if it comes up snake-eyes, then LaFleur could probably still find another gig to rebuild his coaching stock.
