Kim Kardashian is known for her collection of pop culture memorabilia she's purchased at auction but one piece stands out above the rest as the most special—her father's Bible.
Last year, the reality star and Skims founder revealed that she had purchased the Bible that previously belonged to her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., from an auction hosted by the estate of O.J. Simpson. At some point before his passing, Robert had gifted the book to Simpson and it was filled with his own notes.
But winning the auction was no small feat. During an appearance on her sisterKhloé Kardashian's Khloé In Wonder Land podcast on Wednesday (Jan. 28), Kim looked back on the experience and revealed that the auction went for over 12 hours.

While Kim did attempt to purchase the Bible directly from O.J. Simpson's estate before the auction went live, her offer was declined and she was forced to fight for the book.
"We were going for 12 hours straight in Hawaii. And once you bid, it pushes it 30 minutes. Once you do a last bid, it pushes the auction 30 more minutes on certain auction houses. And so 12 hours we were fighting and fighting and fighting and they wouldn't let up," Kim said.
She continued, "And I was like, 'Who wants it that badly? This is amazing, is someone trying to get us this Bible?' I thought, 'Who else would want this Bible?'"
Kim admitted that for a moment she thought it could have been a family member or even Khloé bidding, as the sisters had previously accidentally gotten into a bidding war for an item they both wanted to purchase.
"When I got dad's Bible that he gave to O.J., I thought you were outbidding me. I thought someone was outbidding me...Please person, reveal yourselves," Kim said.
While it's unclear who was bidding against Kim, it had been publicly revealed that she was trying to buy the item prior to the auction. At one point, emails were leaked with information about Kim's attempt to purchase it from the estate—causing more people to be interested in entering their own bids.
"I get the game, but I definitely don’t wanna be used in that situation," Kim revealed on The Kardashians. "So, we used an alias to bid on the bible so that my name wouldn’t be traced back to it."
In the end, Kim paid over $80,000 for the Bible before giving it to Khloé as a gift.
