January 30, 2026 Los Angeles, CA – Spieker Aquatics Center SCY (25 Yards) Full Meet Results Available on Meet Mobile: “2026 UCLA vs USC” Final Score: #11 USC 174 def. UCLA 126

Although last year the Ladies of Troy dominated the UCLA Bruins by winning every event, this year’s crosstown showdown between the two Los Angeles rivals was a bit closer than last year. With USC missing their star swimmer, Hungarian Olympian Minna Abraham, the Bruins were able to pick up six wins on the day, which included a sweep of the relays.

Nevertheless, this win marks USC’s 34th against UCLA out of a total 51 head-to-head matchups.

The Bruins’ team of Fay Lustria (24.56), Sarah Bennetts (26.53), Jada Duncan (22.43), and Claudia Yovanovich (21.63) kicked off the meet by combing for 1:35.15 in the 200 medley relay, establishing a new school record and getting under the NCAA ‘A’ cut. They beat USC’s squad handily, as the Trojans’ Ashley McMillan (24.72), Bella Brito (27.88), Sage Miller (22.27), and Justina Kozan (22.27) were over 3 seconds back in 1:39.89.

Yovanovich (48.26) and Duncan (47.80) returned at the end of the meet to break another Bruins school record, this time in the 400 free relay. They were joined by Gizem Guvenc and Alexis Schaffer, who split 49.00 and 48.50, respectively, to finish in 3:13.56. The University of Southern California, who finished in 3:15.07, also brought back two swimmers from their 200 medley relay in Brito (48.60) and Kozan (48.41), but swapped out Miller and McMillan for Claire Tuggle (48.96) and Nicole Maier (49.10).

UCLA freshman Jada Duncan, a California native who came out of high school as an ‘Honorable Mention’ recruit, dominated both her events: she won the 50 free in 21.98 to break the 22 mark for the first time and swam a 51.91 in the 100 fly, the 3rd fastest time of her career. Her PB comes from UCLA’s dual meet against Stanford earlier this month, where she recorded a 51.06.

Though Duncan was the only Bruin to win both her events, senior Rosie Murphy racked up 16 points thanks to her win in the 200 back (1:51.84), 2nd place finish in the 200 IM (1:55.89), and 3rd place finish in the 100 back (52.83). Though none of her swims were career bests, they weren’t far off—her PBs sit at 1:51.59, 1:54.89, and 52.46, respectively.

As for USC, the Trojans had three swimmers pick up double victories. Ashley McMillan swept the breaststrokes, first winning the 100 in 59.64, then the 200 shortly after in 2:09.11. Both swims were new best times for the senior, who came into the meet with PBs of 1:00.48 and 2:09.62.

Justina Kozan was victorious in the 200 fly (1:55.92) and 200 IM (1:54.32), the latter of which marked a huge best time. Kozan shaved over a second off her 1:55.44 career best, set at the USC invite in October. Today’s swim puts her at #7 in the NCAA this season, just ahead of Cal’s Teagan O’dell.

The final Trojan to earn two wins in the pool was graduate transfer Nicole Maier, who swept the 100 free (48.62) and 200 free (1:44.22). Though she has been as fast as 47.94 in the 100 this season, her swim in the 200 is a new season best. Maier also took 2nd in the 50 free, swimming a 22.47 to touch behind Duncan. Her swims tallied up to a total of 22 points, the most of anyone.

On the boards, Canadian Olympian Kate Miller swept both her events for the 2nd consecutive year. Miller, who finished 15th on the 3-meter at NCAAs last year as a freshman, led the Trojans to a 1-2-3 finish on the 1 meter with a score of 290.40 and spearheaded a 1-2 finish on the 3 meter, scoring 294.00 points.

Other event winners included USC’s Claire Tuggle in the 500 free (4:45.26) and Alisee Pisane in the 1000 free (9:46.85).

Both teams have completed their regular season and are now headed to the Big Ten Championships, which will take place from February 18-21 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. SC finished with a 7-3 record (1-1 Big Ten), while UCLA was 1-4-1 (1-1-0). Both schools made their debut at B1Gs last year, where the Trojans finished in 5th and the Bruins placed 7th.
