Melanie Martinez, Noah Kahan, Bruce Springsteen & More: What’s Your Favorite New Music This Week? Vote!

This week’s new music releases run the gamut from pop faves to the return of a folky breakout star to an urgent political message from a living legend of rock & roll. But which new music release is your favorite?

First up is Noah Kahan with “The Great Divide,” the title track from his upcoming fourth studio album, due April 24 from Mercury Records. A music video for the song is set to premiere during a commercial break at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.

Then there’s “Debris” by Labrinth, from the British singer/songwriter’s just-released fourth album Cosmic Opera ACT I, the start of a new series for Columbia Records. The haunting “Debris” is just a taste of the orchestral new project.

Next we have Cannons’ “Starlight,” the first single from the L.A. band’s upcoming fifth album, Everything Glows, out March 27 on Columbia. “Everything Glows is the most vulnerable album we’ve made,” Cannons frontwoman Michelle Joy says in a press release. “It came from taking a step back and really reflecting, both as a band and as individuals, instead of just pushing forward.”

Plus, Melanie Martinez returned with the surprise song “POSSESSION.” A press release for the song cryptically promises: “Welcome to Melanie Martinez’s new world order – Cry Baby is dead.”

And finally, Bruce Springsteen weighed in on the turmoil in Minnesota between protesters and ICE agents with the new song “Streets of Minneapolis.” Sample lyric: “King Trump’s private army from the DHS/ Guns belted to their coats/ Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law/ Or so their story goes.”
