The Beach Boys' Legacy
The Beach Boys were formed in 1961 by brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson along with their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. While the group emerged as a surf rock band, it evolved into a vocal-driven rock and roll powerhouse. Throughout their career, the band released 29 studio albums, achieving major commercial success and critical acclaim.
The Beach Boys remain a highly influential band. Commonly recognized as a pioneering force in the baroque pop genre, the band is also commended for revolutionizing studio recording.
