Grammys Announce K-Pop Star as Performer for 2026 Awards Show

The Grammy Awards have officially announced a historic performance for Music’s Biggest Night.

ROSÉ of BLACKPINK is set to take the stage at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, making her the first solo K-pop artist ever to perform at the ceremony. The Recording Academy confirmed the news days ahead of the broadcast, signaling a major moment for global pop music and for K-pop fans watching around the world.

ROSÉ’s appearance comes as the Grammys continue to spotlight international artists and reflect the global reach of pop music. At 28, the singer is also having one of the biggest years of her solo career. She is nominated for three Grammy Awards for her hit collaboration with Bruno Mars, “APT.,” which is up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

While the Recording Academy has not yet confirmed whether Mars will also perform, the nomination strength of the song has already made ROSÉ one of the most talked-about artists heading into the night.

This performance also adds to the Grammys’ evolving history with K-pop. BTS previously broke barriers when the group first appeared on the Grammy stage in 2020 as part of an ensemble performance of “Old Town Road.”

The group later earned their own performance slots in 2021 with “Dynamite” and in 2022 with “Butter,” both of which received nominations for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. ROSÉ’s solo appearance now marks another first, showing how far the genre has come on the global awards stage.

    ROSÉ Makes Grammy History

The announcement places ROSÉ at the center of a star-packed show. She will perform during a ceremony that already includes an impressive lineup of artists from across genres.

Previously announced performers include Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Post Malone, Olivia Dean, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Pharrell Williams, Reba McEntire, Slash and The Marías, among many others. The mix of pop, hip-hop, rock, R&B and global acts reflects the wide musical range the Grammys aim to celebrate each year.

Another major performance highlight will come from KATSEYE, a global girl group that includes members from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States.

KATSEYE will perform as part of an extended segment featuring all eight Best New Artist nominees. This marks the second year in a row that every nominee in the category will take the stage, giving viewers a closer look at the future of music.

The 2026 Grammys will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, starting at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT on CBS, with live and on-demand streaming available on Paramount+.

Trevor Noah will return as host for the sixth consecutive year, which will also be his final time leading the ceremony. With this milestone, he becomes the first host since Andy Williams to helm six straight Grammy broadcasts.

Behind the scenes, the show will be produced by Fulwell Entertainment for the Recording Academy. Executive producers for the night include Ben Winston, Raj Kapoor, Jesse Collins and Noah himself.

ROSÉ’s performance is also tied closely to one of the night’s most competitive races. If “APT.” wins Record or Song of the Year, she would become the first K-pop act to win in either major category, another possible milestone for the genre.

BTS previously opened doors with nominations and performances, but a win in these categories would take K-pop recognition at the Grammys to a new level.

With nominations led by artists like Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga, and performances from both legends and rising stars, the 2026 Grammy Awards are shaping up to be a night full of firsts, tributes and standout moments. ROSÉ’s historic performance may be just one part of the show, but it is already one of its most meaningful headlines.
