Garden Grove’s boys basketball team used a 15-2 run to end the game to pull off a 47-43 victory over Laguna Hills on Tuesday night in a Golden West League game at Garden Grove High.
It was the first loss in league for Laguna Hills (11-11, 5-1).
Garden Grove (15-12, 3-4) was led by Neiman Quach’s 17 points. He sealed the win by making two free throws with three seconds remaining in the game.
Ethan Juarez made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 45 seconds remaining to give Garden Grove a 45-43 lead. Juarez had 10 points with six rebounds.
Myles Middlestedt led Laguna Hills with 15 points and Matthew Diggs added 13 points.

In the Empire League:
Valencia 69, Calvary Chapel 68: Valencia erased a nine-point, second-half deficit to beat Calvary Chapel at home.
Valencia (13-13, 3-3) now sits alone in third place in the league standings with two league games remaining.
Ronnie Correa and Siddharth Sheth each had 15 points for Valencia. Izan Hsu had 12 points and Gautham Venguswamy added nine.
Kaden Harris and Ephraim Coffin led Calvary Chapel (15-9, 4-3) in scoring.
In the Crestview League:
Canyon 81, Foothill 56: Canyon built a 15-point lead in the first half as it rolled to a victory over Foothill at home.
Rami Awad paced Canyon (16-10, 3-3) with 18 points and Bryson Allen added 17. Tolu Akomolafe had 10 points for the Comanches.
Braeden Davidson led Foothill (8-18, 0-6) with 16 points. Messiah Todd had 13 points for the Knights and Marlee Slone added 11.
In the Freeway League:
Yorba Linda 57, Sunny Hills 50: Yorba Linda held visiting Sunny Hills to 17 points in the second half.
Jake Waters had 14 points with eight rebounds for Yorba Linda (10-15, 1-4). Zen Bhayani had 11 points with eight rebounds with three steals.
Ezra Lee had 19 points to lead Sunny Hills (8-18, 0-5).
In the San Joaquin League:
San Gabriel Academy 73, Capistrano Valley Christian 51: Capistrano Valley Christian struggled to shoot the ball in a loss to San Gabriel Academy.
The Eagles shot 16 percent from 3-point range and 62 percent from the free throw line. Benjamin Makalela had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds for Capistrano Valley Christian (13-12, 0-3). Matthew Ahern had 14 points and Andrew Lemery added 11.
In the Academy League:
Tarbut V’Torah 71, Webb 67: Tarbut V’Torah set up a league championship game with a win over Webb.
Tarbut V’Torah (10-7, 4-1) will play Western Christian on Thursday for the outright league championship.
Ari Varon had 30 points for the Lions. Ori Maya had 16 points and Eli Feinberg added 11 points with six assists.
Magnolia Science Academy 75, Anaheim Discovery Christian 25: Devin Gonzales had 24 points for Magnolia Science Academy in a road win.
Tobi Bamidele had 18 points with 16 rebounds and five steals for Magnolia Science Academy (10-3). Burak Keskinturk had 18 points with 16 rebounds and six blocks.
