The man who pleaded guilty to attacking employees at Denver-area massage businesses will spend 30 years in prison, according to court records.
“Trevondus Estes viciously preyed on innocent women who were simply doing their jobs and were profoundly affected by these terrible crimes,” Denver District Attorney John Walsh said in a statement. “We hope that this heavy sentence will bring them some comfort and a sense of justice.”
Estes was originally charged in 2020 with dozens of felony counts in a string of armed robberies and assaults in Denver and Lakewood, including robbery, kidnapping, sexual assault, burglary, menacing and numerous weapons charges, according to Denver court records. He also faced several misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and theft.
One of the victims told police that Estes ordered her into a massage room at gunpoint, where he forced oral sex and intercourse on her, according to the man’s arrest affidavit. DNA collected from the massage room was matched to Estes, according to the document.
Estes took a deal and pleaded guilty on Jan. 12 to two felony charges: attempted sexual assault and second-degree kidnapping, court records show.
