‘America’s Next Top Model’ Winner Criticizes Netflix Docuseries for Woke Lens

Adrianne Curry, who won the first cycle of America's Next Top Model, is pushing back on the new Netflix docuseries, Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model.

Netflix released the trailer for the upcoming docuseries on Monday, Jan. 26, which will give viewers an inside look into the hit reality tv series.Tyra Banks,Nigel Barker, J. Alexander,Jay Manuel, and former contestants will all be featured and speaking out about their time on the show.

    "It was very, very intense, but you guys were demanding it, so we kept pushing it, more and more and more," Banks said in the trailer.

    After the trailer released, Curry took to social media to criticize the docuseries for attempting to examine ANTM under contemporary cultural standards.

    She continued, "Also, the public is cult-like and cruel, so the last thing I want is a bunch of eyeballs on me. I hope the other girls do not have their words twisted in their netflix show."

    Curry left the modeling industry and now lives in Montana with her husband. Along with her post on X, Curry also called out the upcoming docuseries on Instagram.

    "I say no to all of these. I have 0 trust in any producers, no desire to be really public in this day and age....and am hard retired from Hollywood," Curry wrote on Instagram.

    While Curry declined to participate in the documentary, Cycle 10 winner Whitney Thompson and Cycle 6 winner Dani Evans will appear in the series. Shandi Sullivan (Cycle 2), Keenyah Hill (Cycle 4), and Shannon Stewart (Cycle 1) will also be featured.

    Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model, the three part docuseries, will drop on Netflix on Feb. 16.
