Smallville star Tom Welling isn't one for Los Angeles these days, but he still knows how to make a grand appearance on the red carpet.
The actor, 48, rose to fame in the role of Clark Kent on The WB's hit series Smallville, alongside Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, and Annette O'Toole. A unique coming-of-age retelling of Superman's story, the series, which eventually moved to The CW, had a devout fan following and ran for 10 seasons.
As for Welling, he headed to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, this week. Appearing alongside his wife, Jessica Rose Lee Welling, the duo attended the premiere of Chasing Summer, a new film written by the hilarious Iliza Shlesinger, and starring Welling alongside Lola Tung and Megan Mullally.
According to a synopsis, the film follows a woman who "heads to her hometown following a breakup with her boyfriend and loss of her job, where she reunites with friends and former flings, which turn her life upside down."
With a touch of gray in his hair and a bit of stubble on his face, it's safe to say that Welling is aging like a fine wine!

While Welling still acts regularly, he decided to say goodbye to living in Los Angeles when the pandemic hit.
“L.A. was wild at the time,” Welling told PEOPLE about life in the city during COVID. “There were no cars on the street, you couldn’t go anywhere. People weren’t leaving their homes. Our first son was starting to crawl and we only had this tiny deck for him to play on. There was this thought of, we don't know if we can be here anymore.”
Realizing it was time for a change, he and his wife headed out to Northern California to visit family members and discovered they loved the small-town vibe.
“I thought, 'This is what I want in five years... so why not just do it now?'” he said. "No one bothers you in a small town. Everyone’s famous in a small town.”

Welling isn't one to forget his past, however. He currently hosts the Smallville rewatch podcast TalkVille with former co-star Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luther. Check out a bit of the podcast below:
An Exciting Career Path
In addition to acting and podcasting, Welling is working in his wife's line of work, breeding sport horses.
"We have American sport horses, jumpers, and we breed. I’m more than happy to help, but she's the captain of that ship," he told the publication. "It’s peaceful. And it feels real.”
