Weather Service updates winter storm warning for Mahoning Valley

The National Weather Service on Saturday morning updated its winter storm warning for Northeast Ohio, including the Mahoning Valley.

The warning takes effect 7 p.m. Saturday and continues through 10 a.m. Monday.

    • WHAT: Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations by Monday are expected to reach up to 12 inches.

    • WHERE: Northeast and North Central Ohio.

    • IMPACTS: Travel will be very difficult at times due to slippery

    road conditions and poor visibility. The hazardous conditions also will

    impact the Monday morning commute.

    peak in intensity during the day Sunday. The snow will gradually

    Monday morning.

    your vehicle in case of an emergency. The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and

    Infrastructure Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all

    travel restrictions and delay or cancel any unnecessary travel.
