Chicago police were investigating an officer-involved shooting in the city’s East Chatham neighborhood on Friday evening, authorities said.
The shooting was reported before 9 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Ingleside Avenue near East 79th Street. Tom Ahern, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department, said in a social media post that no officers were injured.
Area Two detectives and the department’s Investigative Response team were on the scene, he said.
Chicago police had yet to provide additional details as of Friday night.
