It was a cruel world before Holly Humberstone announced this exciting news.
The British singer revealed on her X account and on Instagram this Friday that her second studio album, Cruel World, will be released on April 10. She also put out "To Love Somebody," the second single before the album. Humberstone previously put out the lead track, "Die Happy," back in November.
Written by herself, Rob Milton and Jon Green, "To Love Somebody" is about "loving & losing and feeling it all ❤️?," according to her Instagram caption. "this blue and green ball just keeps spinning and you just gotta cling on & in the end at least you got to love somebody !!!!!!!!"

Humberstone started her professional music career in 2019. She signed with Interscope Records and released her first EP, The Walls Are Way Too Thin, in 2021. The next year, the "Scarlett" singer opened for Olivia Rodrigo's SOUR Tour and the make it go quiet Tour for girl in red. In addition, she performed at one of Taylor Swift's shows at Wembley Stadium in London during her Eras Tour in August 2024.
Her full studio album, Paint My Bedroom Black, was released in October 2023 and received positive reviews from fans and critics. The announcement of her sophomore record comes weeks before Humberstone is set to embark on a tour around Europe this February and perform at two music festivals in the United States this coming April and June.
