ROCHESTER, N.Y. — With winter weather approaching, travelers at the Frederick Douglass Rochester Airport are bracing for potential travel disruptions.
Travelers who flew into Rochester during the day Friday said their flight was relatively uneventful. No flights had any delays and a few even got in early.
Flights to and from Washington, D.C., scheduled for Sunday evening, have already been canceled due to anticipated winter weather.
“We were supposed to come home either Saturday or Sunday,” said traveler Hank Graf. “But as soon as we saw what the forecast was and that it was nationwide, we knew the flights were really going to get messed up. So we jumped on a redeye last night and got home. Got back to Charlotte early this morning and then just flew in.”
Travelers mentioned experiencing some turbulence while landing in Rochester Friday, but expect the weather to have a more significant impact in the coming days.
