ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Watch out for dangerously cold windchills on Friday. We’ve issued a Yellow Alert for windchills that will drop throughout the day. By the afternoon, it could feel like -10 to -20 degrees outside.
So, how cold does it feel outside on Friday morning? First Alert Meteorologist Nate Morris reports from Brighton, recording windchills around 3 to 4 degrees. That’s likely the highest it will get today.
If you’re outside with exposed skin, you could be at risk of frostbite within half an hour. Nate recommends wearing gloves and a scarf to cover any exposed skin and to limit your time outside. If you need a place to stay warm, we have a list of shelters across the region.
News10NBC has also issued Yellow Alerts for Sunday and Monday for a storm that could dump a large amount of snow across the region. You can see the latest forecast here.
