Following a big Xbox Developer Direct, we finally know exactly when the Forza Horizon 6 release date is.

The latest instalment in the iconic racing game series is set to expand it massively, taking us all the way to the Land of the Rising Sun.

So, if you're curious when Forza Horizon 6 releases, if you can pre-order it and what different editions there are, read on!

When is the Forza Horizon 6 release date?

Forza Horizon 6 launches on 19th May 2026 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.

That being said, owners of the Premium Edition will be able to play several days earlier, on 15th May – more on that down below.

This was all officially confirmed at the Xbox Developer Direct showcase on 22nd January 2026.

There are three different editions of Forza Horizon available, each of which comes with its own bonuses:

Base Game

Forza Horizon 6 Deluxe Edition (£89.99 / $99.99)

Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition (£109.99 / $119.99)

Can I pre-order Forza Horizon 6?

Yes, pre-orders for Forza Horizon 6 are now open on Xbox and PC.

PC players can purchase all three versions of the game directly from Steam.

Both Xbox and PC players can also purchase the game from the Xbox store, too, with different pages for the Standard, Deluxe and Premium Editions.

Forza Horizon 6 is coming to Xbox Game Pass, but there's a catch.

Console players will only be able to get day one access through a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, the most expensive tier.

PC players, on the other hand, will be able to play via the significantly cheaper PC Game Pass, though if they have Game Pass Ultimate, that will work too.

Will Forza Horizon 6 be on PS5?

Forza Horizon 6 will be coming to PS5, but it will not be launching on the console.

At the time of writing, Forza Horizon 6 is set to launch as an Xbox and PC exclusive, coming to PS5 consoles later in the year.

Right now, all we have is a 2026 release year, so we aren't sure when exactly it could come out, but it's better than waiting 4 years like we did with Forza Horizon 5!
