Victoria’s song “Not Such an Innocent Girl,” which was released as the first single off her 2001 eponymous debut solo album, reached No. 1 on iTunes in the U.K. on Thursday, January 22. The single previously peaked at No. 6.
The achievement came after fans of Victoria, 51, rallied to get the song to No. 1 in support of the artist, who had been the only Spice Girls member to not yet have a chart-topping solo single. (Gerri Halliwell and Melanie C. each had multiple No. 1 singles, while Mel B. had two and Emma Bunton had one.)
Victoria and David Beckham’s son Cruz, 20, seemingly contributed to the campaign by using “Not Such an Innocent Girl” in an Instagram Stories post on Thursday. He placed the song over a photo of a can of Guaraná Antarctica, a Brazilian soft drink made from guaraná berry.

Fans showed their support for Victoria amid drama with her and David’s eldest son, Brooklyn, 26, after he publicly accused his parents of “controlling their family” and “disrespecting” his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. (Victoria and David, 50, are also parents to son Romeo, 23, and daughter Harper, 14.)
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” Brooklyn wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 19.
He continued, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

“The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of the innocent people, to preserve their own facade,” he alleged. “But I believe the truth always comes out.”
Brooklyn claimed that his parents have attempted to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola, 31, since before their 2022 wedding. He accused Victoria of canceling a wedding dress she had planned to make for Nicola at the last minute and “dancing inappropriately” on him during what was supposed to be his first dance with his wife. Additionally, he claimed that his parents “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe [him] into signing away the rights to [his] name, which would have affected [him], [his] wife and [their] future children.”
Brooklyn also alleged that, on the night before his wedding, members of his family told him that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.”

“Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, l’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders,” he continued. “Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.”
Brooklyn then claimed that David “rejected” him and Nicola when they visited him for his 50th birthday.
“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he concluded. “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
David and Victoria have yet to publicly address Brooklyn’s statement. Us Weekly reached out to reps for the pair for comment at the time.
