A 43-year-old man was injured while fleeing police in southern Colorado on Wednesday, according to the state investigators.
Walsenburg police officers and Huerfano County sheriff’s deputies found the man, who was wanted in Crowley County on a domestic violence warrant, at a truck stop in Walsenburg shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Crowley County detectives had issued a “be on the lookout” alert for the man earlier that day, warning he was believed to be armed and dangerous, the release stated.
The man drove away from the TA Express Travel Center truck stop when Walsenburg officers and Huerfano County deputies tried to arrest him, investigators said in the release. One Walsenburg officer shot at the man, who has not been publicly identified, during the incident.

Paramedics took the man to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to investigators. No officers were injured.
