ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester man was arrested on felony weapon charges following a traffic stop on Friday.
New York State Police conducted the stop on Portland Avenue near Dickinson Street after witnessing car and traffic violations, officials said.
Troopers identified the front-seat passenger as Eric Gevon Moye Jr., 23, of Rochester.
A handgun was partially visible in his jacket pocket during the stop, officials said.
The gun had a round in the chamber, and additional bullets in the magazine were found during a search, reports say.
Reports tell us that Moye didn’t have a valid NYS pistol permit, turning the gun and bullets over as evidence.
Moye was arrested at the scene. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees.
The driver received traffic citations and was released.
Moye was processed at SP Rochester and taken to Monroe County Jail for CAP arraignment.
