Created by former developers of Apex Legends and Titanfall, Highguard was the “one last thing” of December 2025’s Keighley Awards. It’s a free-to-play, guns & sorcery, PvP raid shooter in which magic cowboys in capes vie for control of an uncharted continent. It’s got temples, airships, rideable panthers, fireballs, frost giants, and enchanted siege engines on caterpillar tracks.
As a fan of games that can’t work out whether they’re scientific and gritty or wacky and wizardly, I think it could be a larrrf, but we know barely anything about Highguard, a week from release on January 26th. Still, developers Wildlight Entertainment have decided that now is the time to put out a call for fan art, capitalising on nostalgia for a trailer barely a month old.
