Former Kentucky star Reed Sheppard exploded in the fourth quarter for 12 of his 21 points to help lead his Rockets to a comeback win over the San Antonio Spurs.
After being down 16 at one point, the Rockets entered the fourth quarter down 10 points, 92-82. They continued to chip away at the lead until a Sheppard 3-point shot with just under 5 minutes left in the game helped give the Rockets the lead, 99-98.
The Spurs would come back down on the other end and take the lead back with a Keldon Johnson 2-point shot, but Sheppard didn’t let that last long. He came right back down and knocked down a jumper that would give the Rockets back the lead, 101-100.

After struggling to find a role and consistent minutes in his rookie season, Sheppard has taken a huge step forward in his sophomore season. He’s averaging 13 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists on 44.4% shooting from the field and 40.9% shooting from behind the 3-point line.
Sheppard and the Rockets will now turn their attention to the Philadelphia 76ers. That game takes place Thursday night in Philly at 7 p.m. EST.
