GATES, N.Y. — The New York State Comptroller’s Office says the Gates Fire District has made some changes in its long-term financial planning, budgeting, and more after the findings of a 2024 audit.
The office says the district has “fully implemented” all eight of its recommendations following the audit. Officials revisited the district back in September to ensure that its leaders were making the recommended changes. The changes have to deal with:
