Women’s Recap
The Blue Devils racked up 169.5 points to best Georgia Tech’s women’s team by over 50 points, giving Duke’s nine seniors and grad students a triumphant sendoff for their final home meet of their careers.
Duke prevailed in 11 out of the 16 events of the day, with multiple athletes bringing home double wins to help lead the team to victory.
Senior Tatum Wall swept the sprint freestyle events, touching first in the 50 free (21.94) and the 100 free (47.65). Wall’s performance in the 100 free tied her own program record and broke the pool record in the event as she charged into the wall almost three seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Classmate Audrey Portello picked up two individual victories for the Blue Devils, winning the 500 free (4:52.67) and 200 IM (2:02.04). Meanwhile, sophomore Keira Lu swept the diving events, prevailing on the 1-meter with 313.55 points and on the 3-meter with 362.55 points to mark her fourth event sweep of the season.
In addition to her individual victories, Wall also helped Duke claim the title in both the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. The 200 medley relay saw the quartet of Madeline Meredith, Kaelyn Gridley, Heather White and Wall stop the clock in 1:37.12, almost three seconds ahead of the 2nd-place finish. Wall and White were later joined by Clare Logan and Emily Gantriis for the 400 free relay, posting a time of 3:18.96 to claim the title.
The Georgia Tech women swept the backstroke events, with Vivian Rothwell touching first in the 100 back. She logged a 53.07, marking the 3rd-fastest time in program history; Rothwell now holds all three top times in Yellow Jacket history.
The 200 back went to Phoebe Wright, who stopped the clock in 1:54.71 to mark the 4th-fastest time in program history. Wright now owns the top six times in Georgia Tech history in the event; she set the team record at the 2025 ACCs with a lifetime best time of 1:53.52. The next fastest Blue Devil on the program ranking is Caroline Lee, who now sits at #7 with her time of 1:55.18 from back in 2019.
Men’s Recap
The Yellow Jackets logged a decisive victory against Duke, racking up 186 points to topple the Blue Devils’ 112 points.
Diver Max Fowler led the pack with a top performance on the 3-meter. He soared past Georgia Tech’s program record in the event, posting a score of 471.53 points to surpass the previous top score of 439.58 points, set by Ruben Lechuga back in 2022.
Fowler also picked up the win in the 1-meter with a score of 391.65 points, marking the 4th-best score in program history.
Tuncer Berk Ertürk won the 1000 free in 9:08.67, which marks the 6th-fastest performance in Yellow Jacket history. He was followed by teammate Lukas Vetkoetter (9:15.66), with the pair logging the only two sub-9:20 times of the meet.
Ertürk also won the 200 IM, stopping the clock in 1:49.81, while Vetkoetter went on to win the 500 free in 4:31.34, just .2 ahead of teammate Ben Gerhard (4:34.55).
Robin Yeboah swept the sprint freestyle events, prevailing in the 50 free (19.95) and the 100 free (44.26). His performance in the 50 free was the only time under 20 seconds, while he narrowly beat out teammate Ricky Balduccini (44.80) in the 100 free.
The Yellow Jackets won both the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay, with the 400 free relay team of Yeboah, Balduccini, Vitor Sega and Stephen Jones throwing down a time of 2:56.35 to clinch the victory by almost four seconds.
Duke claimed two event victories on Saturday, courtesy of Ryan Griffith and Jack Smith. Griffith prevailed in the 200 back, stopping the clock in 1:46.83, while Smith picked up the win in the 100 breast with a time of 54.65.

Georgia Tech is back in action with a home meet against South Carolina on January 24. Duke has a week off and will next take to the pool on January 30, when the men’s and women’s teams face off against the University of Tennessee.
