If you’re a Pokémon fan, you already know there’s no such thing as anything to do with the brand that's too immersive. Once you're in that world, you want all of it—the characters, the colors, the tiny details that make it feel like you've stepped straight into another dimension. Whether it's collectibles like Pokémon Legos, theme parks, or limited-edition merch, fans are always ready to lean all the way in. It's not just nostalgia, it's comfort, excitement and a little escapism wrapped into one.
That's why this news feels like such a win. A hotel chain in Japan is doubling down on the Pokémon-themed rooms it's been offering since 2019, expanding the experience for guests who want their stay to feel like part of the adventure. These aren't just rooms with a poster on the wall, they're full-on Pokémon environments designed to make you feel like an actual trainer, even if your biggest quest of the day is finding breakfast.

Japanese chain MIMARU, which offers an apartment-style hotel experience, first established Pokémon rooms in their properties back in 2019 and, let's just say, they've been a huge success for the brand. The rooms feature 100 Pokémon through the space and are perfect for families (or a gaggle of Pokémon fans who feel like family).
For longtime fans and newer trainers alike, it’s the kind of stay that turns a regular trip into something memorable. Because when it comes to Pokémon, fans don’t just want to visit the world—they want to sleep in it, too.

What Will You Find in the Updated Pokémon Hotel Rooms?
For starters, these Pokémon rooms are now live at 10 MIMARU locations across Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, including new spots in Hatchobori and Ikebukuro. They’re designed to feel less like a hotel and more like your own Pokémon-themed apartment. Think roomy layouts with full kitchens, separate sleeping areas, and space to actually hang out. This is a huge deal for families.

Inside, Pokémon are everywhere—as previously mentioned, more than 100 of the little guys are tucked onto walls, ceilings, furniture and even in the kitchen and bathroom.
The bathroom leans into calming Water-type Pokémon, while the kitchen features food-loving characters, which somehow makes heating up food fun. There’s also a giant Snorlax plush sprawled across the bed, basically begging for photos.
Poké Ball details show up on dining tables, plates, mugs and bedding, and hidden Pokémon throughout the room turn the whole space into a mini scavenger hunt.
MIMARU is currently accepting room reservations through the end of November 2026, so you can start planning your vacay now.
