According to Deadline, Napolitano is leaving Fire Country at the end of Season 4. The outlet reports that Napolitano plans to focus on her own development deal with CBS.

Napolitano has been a key player in Fire Country since she was brought on board after CBS picked up the pilot. In addition to serving as the showrunner, Napolitano is an executive producer on Fire Country alongside show creator Max Thieriot (Bode).

Fire Country writers Tony Phelan and Joan Rater are staying on board, along with Thieriot, if the CBS drama returns for Season 5. As of this writing, a renewal has not been announced.

However, given the show's popularity and the early Season 2 renewal for the Fire Country spin-off Sheriff Country, all signs point to the firefighter series returning for another season.

The news of Napolitano’s exit comes after a slew of casting changes that have taken place this year. Season 4 kicked off with the death of Vince (Billy Burke), which rocked Station 42, especially Sharon (Diane Farr) and Bode to their cores.

Fire Country faced another loss in the Season 4 premiere when Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) chose to leave Edgewater for a job opportunity. Then Audrey (Leven Rambin) needed space from Bode and moved to another fire station.

Battalion Chief Brett Richards (Shawn Hatosy) came into the mix after Vince’s death, taking over Station 42 for a hot second before he named Manny (Kevin Alejandro) as Vince’s replacement.

Those are the significant changes that have taken place so far. However, Fire Country’s fall finale ended with a serious cliffhanger and many lives in jeopardy, which means more casting changes could be coming.

Fire Countryshowrunner Tia Napolitano will exit the series at the end of Season 4. The show has yet to announce who will replace her in the coveted role.

Fire Country airs Fridays at 9/8c on CBS.
