Alabama is trying to retool its roster for the 2026 season, and the Crimson Tide got a big-time commitment in the transfer portal on Friday night with Cal Poly transfer offensive lineman Racin Delgatty heading to Tuscaloosa.
Delgatty told On3’s Hayes Fawcett of his intentions to head to the SEC this fall. While he comes to Alabama from a very remote, unlikely program, Delgatty is the real deal, only giving up 1 sack in 1,316 snaps as a center at Cal Poly.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Delgatty will have 2 years of eligibility left after finishing his redshirt sophomore season, so there is room for him to grow in Ryan Grubb’s offensive system.

— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) January 16, 2026Delgatty is a California product who played his high school football at St. Francis in La Canada Flintridge, Calif., but while he might be largely unknown to Alabama fans and the SEC world, Delgatty’s commitment could be a huge gain for the Crimson Tide come this fall.
He’s a former 3-star recruit and was ranked as the No. 179 interior offensive lineman in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports ratings.
After a successful run in his home state, Delgatty will try to prove himself all over again at Alabama and in the SEC. His arrival will be a huge boost to a Bama offensive line in flux going into the offseason.
Despite playing at a small program like Cal Poly, Delgatty was regarded as one of the top offensive linemen still available in the transfer portal.
But he’s no longer available, with Alabama scooping him up, which will help ease the sting of losing so many offensive linemen to the NFL Draft and transfer portal.
