ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Fire crews battled a fire at a three-story boarding house on Lyell Avenue Friday night.
According to Lt. Jackie Sierra from the Rochester Fire Department, crews were called just before 7 p.m. for a house on fire with a report of people trapped. When crews got there, they found heavy fire coming from the house.
Sierra says the fire was coming from the attic of the house, and was put out. She said there were multiple people inside, and crews were working to get everyone out.
Sierra says crews were also working to learn how many people were evacuated from the home and injured. She says no firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated. This is a developing story and will be updated as we learn more.
