Denver Summit FC adds CU All-American goalkeeper Jordan Nytes to inaugural roster

Boulder’s brick wall is coming to Denver.

Jordan Nytes, a two-time All-American at the University of Colorado who was one of the most accomplished players in program history, signed a one-year deal with Summit FC on Friday.

Nytes is the second goalkeeper signed to Summit FC’s roster, joining NWSL veteran Abby Smith. Nytes, an Aurora native and Grandview alum, was a three-time Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year and tallied 42 wins across her three seasons with the Buffs.

Across her four-year collegiate career that began at Oklahoma State, Nytes had a 0.88 goals against average and an .831 save percentage in 84 starts. In 2024, she set a CU record with consecutive shutout minutes at 583:33, and finished her career as the Buffs’ all-time shutout leader. Her play helped CU to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Sweet 16 in 2025.

“Jordan represents everything we want to build at Denver Summit FC,” Summit FC general manager Curt Johnson said in a statement. “She’s an elite goalkeeper, a proven leader, and a Colorado native who understands what soccer means to this community. Her success at Colorado and on the national stage makes her a cornerstone addition as we prepare for our inaugural season.”

Nytes, who matched her career high with 12 saves in the Buffs’ second-round NCAA Tournament win over Xavier, finished 2025 ranked fifth in the NCAA with 121 saves.

Summit FC also signed another collegian on Friday, defender Natalie Means from Georgetown. Means, who inked a two-year deal, was a first-team All-Big East selection in 2025 as she tallied 10 goals and six assists in 23 starts.

The club’s roster is now at 18, and Johnson said last week the plan is to carry 22 or 23 players in the preseason. That will include one more goalkeeper. Denver heads to Santa Barbara, Calif., on Sunday to begin preseason training camp. Its first match is March 14 at Bay FC.
