Formed in 2010 in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, The Last Ten Seconds of Life (or TLTSOL for short) released their debut album Know Your Exits a year after forming, as well as going on tour extensively. Produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Pennsylvania's Atrium Audio, the album will have 10 new tracks.

"We really focused on the guitar, bass and drum tones as well as the mix and master," McLaughlin told Metal Injection prior to the album announcement. "Everyone took what we learned from the past two releases and assembled what we thought would bring out the best of us. We examined all of [our] past work and focused on how our fanbase digested and connected with our music — from the flow of structure all the way to every single word that was used."

In addition, multiple collaborations and features are set to take place in The Dead Ones. Signs of The Swarm's David Simonich will appear on a song titled "Make It To Heaven," while former Fit For An Autopsy vocalist Nate Johnson is featured on "Rat Trap." Meanwhile, Alan Grnja of Distant features on "Dollar To A Dime," and longtime fans will recognize original TLTSOL vocalist Storm Strope appearing on "XXXXXXXXXX."
