The Young and the Restless fan favorite Jason Thompson celebrated 10 years of playing Billy Abbott with a sweet message to fans and his co-stars.
On January 14, Thompson marked a decade as Billy. The actor made his debut on the CBS soap just a couple of weeks after his final appearance as Patrick on General Hospital, where he got his big acting break.

The Young and the Restless Star Jason Thompson’s Message to Fans
In an Instagram video, Thompson didn’t miss a beat as he expressed his gratitude for working on The Young and the Restless as well as all those who have followed his career.
Thompson began his message by making it clear this was an appreciation post for all those he works with and who have supported him on this journey. The actor thanked all the behind-the-scenes people who make The Young and the Restless run like a well-oiled machine, but don’t get their props.
“I just have so much appreciation for all those people. They're just fantastic people,” he shared.
There were also some sweet words for the cast before Thompson spoke his message to the fans.
“Most importantly, to the fans that support our show, that watch us, it's literally not possible without you. There's three plus million people that watch us five days a week. And that's only in America, let alone Canada, Australia, France, everywhere. It's just an incredible thing. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for watching our show, for supporting us, and for me personally, just allowing me to play an amazing character that continues to grow and surprise me,” the actor stated.
Thompson also confirmed that he loves playing Billy. Despite recent comments about his desire to revisit playing Patrick on General Hospital, Thompson has no plans to leave the CBS soap.
“He's so fun to play. Billy Abbott is, you know, he's a little s--t stirrer sometimes, but I love him. I love his edge. I love everything about him. And I'm so grateful to put that wardrobe on every day and step into his shoes. So thank you for the 10 years, and here's to 10, 20, 30, 40, 50. Why not? All the best. Thank you. Bye-bye,” Thompson ended his message.

Soap Stars Gush Over Jason Thompson on His Anniversary
