Sister Wives star Meri Brown is shedding new light on the Brown family’s finances, addressing years of viewer speculation after breaking a “never talk” agreement she had with then-husband Kody Brown.
In an Instagram clip for the second installment of the season-ending One on One specials, Meri explained the family’s past financial arrangements to host Sukanya Krishnan. The conversation was prompted by Kody’s claim that Meri wanted all the proceeds from the sale of their Las Vegas home in 2019.
Kody spoke first in the clip, stating, "She wanted all the money from it, and that's not how our divorce decree went. It was fifty-fifty. Then she wouldn't recognize all the money Robyn [Brown] and I put into Coyote Pass, but yet, still wanted twenty-five percent of it."
Krishnan explained to Meri that Kody felt he was owed half of what that house was worth. She responded, "I have never fought him on that."

View this post on InstagramMeri continued, "I got an email back from him, in the past week or so, saying that I demanded the full amount. Sure, it would make sense that I get it because I was the only one who lived in [the house] for the majority of the time that we owned it. And I'm the one who made all the payments. But you know what, your name was on it, so you can have half of it."
Krishnan asked, "Why does he have the equity?" Meri's friend, Jenn Sullivan, added, "Yes, let's talk about that."
Meri responded, "That was the loan that I gave to purchase Robyn's house in Flagstaff. That's that money." Jenn added, "Every penny."
She added at the clip's close, "And this is something I consented to never talk about. But we'll talk about it now."
Viewers were stunned by Meri's admission. They shared their remarks about the Brown family finances in the comments section of the Instagram upload.
"Oh my gosh, no wonder they wanted her to sign an NDA!! Meri, these details are such important context!!!" wrote one viewer.
A second penned, "This is what we want to know. These are the concerns every viewer has had."
"So this is where Robyn came up with an NDA for Merri to sign [which Janelle Brown discussed in the first installment of the One on One episodes]. She and Kody are so shady!" claimed a third Instagram user.
The second installment of the Sister Wives One on One airs Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
