BRISTOL, N.Y. — Snowboarders are celebrating as Bristol Mountain kicks off its snowmaking season. The combination of natural snowfall and man-made snow has created perfect conditions for winter sports enthusiasts.
“It does. It certainly increases excitement,” said Steven Fuller, the vice president of Bristol Mountain. “Any time you have natural snow and you look out your window at home and see the snow on the ground it always gets people excited. They think of winter and what things to do in Rochester and of course they think Bristol Mountain.”
The fresh snow was a perfect opportunity for snowboarder Michael Schmidt Tieu Truong, who made the most of his snow day.
“School is canceled, you know, so had a snow day, came out here and landed my first backflip so I’m really excited, said Truong.
Truong is already setting his sights on his next challenge. After nailing his first backflip, he aims to land a front flip next.
