As a 48-year-old who captured the hearts of TV viewers as a teenager, Sarah Michelle Gellar is staying grounded when it comes to discussing aging in the spotlight, and fans are thankful for it.
"I'm constantly compared to my younger self because it's so easy to pull up a picture from my 20s or my 30s," she said while chatting on a recent podcast episode of Gloss Angeles. "In some ways I think it puts a little bit of extra added pressure and in other ways, it also reminds me that I don't want to be that person anymore, I like who I am now, and that's okay."
"You know every so often you'll see that comment, 'Oh, she got old,' and it's like, 'Yes, that's what happens.' I'm not 18 anymore," she added.
The mom-of-2, who skyrocketed to fame in the early 90s with a role on All My Children and then ultimately the hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, went on to say that even though she's confident in her approach to beauty, she can fall to the inevitable pressures herself.
"It's definitely hard you know?" she said. "I'm seeing girls younger and younger get plastic surgery and facelifts and injectables and I'm always like 'Really?' and then it starts to go 'Am I supposed to do that?'"

However she knows that as she's continued to act throughout her life, starring in films like 'The Grudge' movies as well as the 'Scooby Doo' franchise, alongside husband Freddie Prinze Jr., staying away from plastic surgery is in her best interest.
"I'm also an actor, I have to use my face, so if I had a facelift I would look I think ridiculous," she said, but admitted, "I get botox I'm not gonna lie and say there's no botox in my face but I can still move my face so it's definitely a hard walk."
