Nikki Glaser stuck to her comedic instincts when it came to paying tribute to the late Rob Reiner at Sunday's Golden Globes.
In an interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday, the comedian shared why she chose to subtly honor the filmmaker, who, along with his wife Michele, was tragically killed in December, with a 'This Is Spinal Tap' hat instead of making prepared remarks.
"It was so heavy and so tragic," she said of the filmmaker's death. "I thought Chelsea Handler did a really great job in her Critics Choice speech, I felt like it came from a really personal place because she knew him really well."

In addition to the "little nod" with her hat, she also closed out the show with the famed line from the 1984 film, "this one went to 11."
And commenters of the interview clip, shared on Instagram, agreed with and applauded Glaser's decision.
"It was perfect just perfect," one commenter said.
"Master class in social awareness," stated another, while a third simply called the 41-year-old comedian a "class act."

The Reiner's son Nick is charged with both Rob and Michele's murders. They were also parents to daughter Romy.
Following their deaths, droves of celebrities who worked with the couple paid tribute with support and memories including 'When Harry Met Sally' star Meg Ryan.
"Oh how we will miss this man," she wrote. "Thank you, Rob and Michelle, [sic] for the way you believe in true love, in fairy tales, and in laughter. Thank you for your faith in the best in people, and for your profound love of our country."
