On Wednesday, Jan. 14, the country music icon took to Instagram with a video message to fans announcing an upcoming performance.

"Hey guys, Tim McGraw, here," he began in the clip. "And yes, the NHL Stadium Series is going to Tampa. Raymond James Stadium is going to have a hockey rink at 6:30 [on] Feb. 1 on ESPN. And I will be there during the first intermission to perform for you. Check it out!"
For the Feb. 1 game in Tampa, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Boston Bruins will go head-to-head at Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The match-up will mark the first outdoor game in league history played in a football stadium in Florida, according to an NHL news release.

To pull off the outdoor hockey match in the Sunshine State, the NHL will build a regulation-sized rink inside a "steel-framed, air-conditioned structure to protect it from the elements," per the news release. The massive structure will be taken down before the teams play outside. McGraw will perform on a stage next to the rink; tickets for the Tampa event are limited.
The Lightning-Bruins game will wrap up the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series' month-long outdoor hockey celebration in Florida. It kicked off on Jan. 2 in Miami with the first outdoor hockey game ever in the state.
In the comments of McGraw's post, Instagram followers shared their excitement for his upcoming performance. One follower declared, "Ooookkkk now I'm excited to go!!!!"
