ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester is reminding people that the deadline to apply for property tax exemptions is coming up.
The city offers multiple exemptions for homeowners whose property is their primary residence, including senior citizen exemption, veterans exemption, disabled persons exemption, and clergy exemption.
There will be various sessions hosted by the city where property owners can ask questions and get help with applications. The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, Jan. 17: 12-4 p.m. – Adams Street R-Center Saturday, Jan. 24: 12-4 p.m. – Rochester Community Sports Complex Wednesday, Jan. 28: 4-8 p.m. – Thomas P. Ryan R-Center Saturday, Jan. 31: 12-4 p.m. – David F. Gantt R-CenterApplications are due by Monday, Feb. 2. For new Basic or Enhanced STAR exemptions, applicants must register directly with New York State. You can learn more here.
