The Bay Area News Group’s high school group is back to predict six more basketball games across the Mercury News and East Bay Times coverage footprint.
Darren Sabedra, Christian Babcock and Nathan Canilao debuted the new basketball predictions show last week and have returned to prognosticate a half dozen East Bay, South Bay and Peninsula games.
All in good fun, of course.
Canilao and Sabedra went 4-2 last week and share the co-lead heading into Week 2 of the picks. Babcock went 3-3, with Archbishop Mitty’s heartbreaking loss to Ontario Christian making the difference.
This week, the guys predict the results of boys games between Dougherty Valley and Livermore, Mitty and Bellarmine and Bishop O’Dowd and California and girls games between Hillsdale and Menlo-Atherton, Pinewood and Priory and St. Francis and Archbishop Riordan.
The group was in lockstep on the girls side. Not so much on the boys.
In the video podcast, the guys discuss Mitty’s double-overtime girls loss to Ontario Christian, the Livermore boys ending the program’s 121-game EBAL losing streak and the upcoming MLK showcases.
