"I go, ‘Hang on, hang on, hang on, boss. I want to, you know, I want to do another one. That was the first one!’" Damon continued. "He goes, ‘Why? You wanna waste everybody’s time?’ And I went, ‘No, I guess we’re moving on.'”
Rather than be offended or thrown off by Eastwood's minimalist approach, Damon emphasized that Eastwood's work ethic came from a place of kindness, calling the Gran Torino director "a lovely guy."
“His whole mentality was… your crew will go to the ends of the Earth for you if as long as you’re not taxing them on every shot,” Damon explained.
Despite rumors asserting that Eastwood's recent film (2024's Juror #2) would be his last, the 95-year-old director is reportedly still hard at work lining up other potential projects for the near future.
Damon, meanwhile, has his next big film scheduled for release in the form of The Odyssey, a sprawling fantasy epic slated to premiere on July 17, 2026.
