Gwen thanked Cat for inviting her out for drinks, admitting she had been feeling isolated since most of Salem seemed to despise her. When Cat asked about Dimitri, Gwen seized the chance to unload, revealing that Dimitri wanted a divorce and that she feared he would freeze her out of his assets. She claimed Dimitri believed she had kidnapped him and nervously insisted that if she had done it — and if he could prove it — her claim to his fortune would be in jeopardy. Cat pressed her on whether she was responsible, but Gwen lied unconvincingly before changing the subject. When Gwen asked about Cat’s date with EJ, Cat assured her there was nothing romantic going on.
At the DiMera mansion, Rafe arrived to see Dimitri and revealed that he was now an FBI agent. Gwen arrived mid-interrogation, and Rafe warned Dimitri not to leave town before departing. Dimitri immediately turned on Gwen, accusing her of kidnapping him and vowing to make her pay. After he stormed out, Gwen muttered that she would prove he kidnapped his family members — whether he did it or not.
Rafe later met with Cat, and the two compared notes on their separate encounters with Dimitri and Gwen. Rafe admitted they were left with more questions than answers and revealed his plan to travel to Alamainia to question Vivian. He asked Cat to dig into what she could uncover at the lab, though she wanted to accompany him. Rafe insisted that would blow her cover and reassured her that he wouldn’t be going alone.
At the hospital, Sarah apologized for keeping Kristen waiting, but Kristen was more concerned with being discharged so she could see Rachel. Though hesitant as a doctor, Sarah empathized as a mother and agreed to release her on the condition she complete her full course of medication. Later, while treating a sick child, Sarah noticed the boy’s father had a knife wound on his hand. He brushed it off as an accident and hurried away, leaving Sarah concerned.
Brady met with Rachel’s therapist at Bayview to discuss his concerns about Rachel’s friendship with Sophia. He explained the complicated history between their families, but the therapist reassured him that the friendship was beneficial, providing one of Rachel’s few meaningful connections. Though Brady remained uneasy, the doctor asked him to consider another issue — Rachel’s belief that her parents would reunite. She explained that until that hope was addressed, Rachel would struggle to move forward. Brady asked if that meant reconciling with Kristen, but the therapist clarified that he needed to help Rachel accept that a reunion would never happen. Brady admitted he had someone in his life he cared about and wanted to see where it led. The doctor agreed it was too soon to tell Rachel and offered to help them navigate that conversation when the time came.
In Rachel’s room, Sophia asked for her help once again, this time requesting helping getting out to get a cell phone to use in the hospital. She suggested Rachel steal money from Brady during his next visit to pay for it. Though clearly conflicted, Rachel listened as Sophia tried to manipulate her — until Kristen arrived. Thrilled to see her mother, Rachel introduced her to Sophia before they were left alone. Kristen answered Rachel’s questions about her legal troubles and encouraged her regarding therapy, reassuring her that she had no reason to be upset with Sarah. Rachel mentioned seeing Sarah hug Brady, but before Kristen could respond, Brady entered, surprised to find her there. A nurse soon arrived to escort Rachel to wash up for dinner, and Rachel sent her parents to the dayroom to see a new picture she’d drawn.
While Brady and Kristen stepped out together, Rachel returned to her room and wrestled with her conscience before stealing cash from Brady’s jacket. After they left the hospital, Sophia reappeared, and Rachel revealed the money she’d taken — setting the stage for even bigger trouble ahead.
