John Branca and John McClain, the executors of Michael Jackson's estate, are seeking $115,000 in legal fees from Jackson's daughter Paris Jackson.
According to Us Weekly, Branca and McClain filed court documents on Friday, Jan. 9, requesting that Paris pay the legal fees they acquired throughout their ongoing legal dispute.
Branca and McClain are requesting $94,000 to cover past legal fees and $21,000 to go towards future legal expenses.
This recent court filing comes after a judge had denied a motion that would have allowed Paris to block Branca and McClain from making certain payments.
A representative for Paris responded to the judge's dismissal and told US, "This order is limited to minor procedural issues and does not change the facts: the pattern of behavior displayed by the executors and their attorneys raises significant red flags, and Paris will continue working to ensure her family is treated fairly. We will be submitting an updated filing shortly."
Paris had first expressed concerns surrounding payments made by Branca and McClain back in 2018. She alleged that the executors has requested certain amounts of money for various third-party law firms only to then change those amounts numerous times.
"During this one six-month period alone in 2018, Executors request that the Court approve $625,000 in payments to three law firms for what they say is uncaptured time, without explanation as to why counsel was incapable of recording unbilled time, or why such a failure should not preclude payment," Paris' lawyer said regarding the alleged behavior.
Her lawyer also added, "Even worse, these payments appear, at least in part, to consist of lavish gratuities bestowed upon already well-compensated counsel. As painful as it is to say in print, the present records suggest a group of closely-knit, highly-compensated lawyers is exploiting Executors’ lack of oversight to skim money from the Estate, in plain view."
Branca and McClain denied Paris' claims and their lawyers argued that the payments made to these third-party law firms were standard for the entertainment industry.
Paris' lawyer has continued to criticize the alleged behavior of Branca and McClain.
"That conduct, born of comfort and arrogance, is indefensible, and Executors have done nothing to indicate otherwise. Instead, like the Wizard of Oz, they demand that the Court trust them blindly, refusing to let anyone look behind the curtain," Paris' lawyer expressed.
