Timothy Busfield has surrendered to law enforcement in New Mexico 4 days after an arrest warrant was issued by the Albuquerque Police Department alleging he engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with two 11-year-old boys.
According to video obtained by TMZ, the actor was seen at his lawyer's office in Albuquerque shortly before turning himself in. He reportedly said he will "confront these lies," and that "I did not do anything to those little boys."
On Monday, Jan. 12 — one day prior to Busfield turning himself in on Tuesday, Jan. 13 — People reported that the Albuquerque Police Department had enlisted the help of the U.S. Marshals Service to locate and arrest Busfield.

According to court documents, Busfield is facing two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and an open count of child abuse.
The documents allege that one of the children law enforcement spoke to said Busfield touched them inappropriately at the age of 7. Police first began an investigation in November 2024 after being alerted by University of New Mexico Hospital staff that one of the children appeared to have been groomed.
The court documents say the children did not inform hospital staff of any sexual contact, but did describe incidents of “Uncle Tim” tickling them on the stomach and legs even though they didn’t like it.

The children referenced in the documents were child actors who reportedly met Busfield on the set of the FOX series The Cleaning Lady, which ran from January 2022 to June 2025. Busfield served as an executive producer and director on the series.
Busfield has been married to Little House on the Prairie actress Melissa Gilbert since 2013. Neither Busfield nor Gilbert have released a statement since the allegations came to light.
