Ole Miss reportedly signs former Oklahoma center, potential starter in 2026

Ole Miss, coming off one of its best seasons in program history, already has its eyes on 2026 and on Tuesday morning seemed to take a big step toward improving its center position.

The Rebels, who have flipped the page to Pete Golding‘s first full season in Oxford, signed Oklahoma center transfer Troy Everett, according to a report by CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer on Tuesday morning. While Everett isn’t guaranteed anything this fall at Ole Miss, he comes with starting potential, having made 12 career starts at Oklahoma.

Everett’s 2025 season with the Sooners was cut short because of injury, and now he’ll apparently be getting a fresh start with a rival SEC program. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Virginia native will try to end his collegiate career on his own terms this fall, and he’ll apparently be doing that with an Ole Miss program that is coming off a run to the College Football Playoff semifinals.

The reported transfer to Ole Miss would continue a whirlwind collegiate journey for Everett, who played 3 seasons at Oklahoma after transferring from Appalachian State, where he spent the previous 2 years.

Everett’s college career began slowly with a redshirt in 2021 at Appalachian State. Then things got going for Everett during the 2022 season, when he was named a second-team All-American by The Athletic.

It was off to Oklahoma after that for Everett, who was able to show in Norman that he could be a starting-caliber player at the SEC level. Now, he’ll reportedly be trying to do the same this fall for Golding in Oxford.
