New exhibit explores the human body at National Museum of Play

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Strong National Museum of Play has announced its next short-term exhibit! It’s called ‘Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body’.

It’s based on a popular children’s book, The Grossology Series by Sylvia Branzei and illustrator Jack Keely, published under the Penguin Young Readers Group.

The exhibit will explore all things “stingy, crusty, and slimy,” by using animatronics and imaginative interactions to explain the good and the bad about runny noses, body odor and so much more.

There is a Vomit Center which will teach explorers the process of vomiting, a Toot Toot area that gives the ability to create different sounds that replicate the physics of gas, and even a chance to explore the role of kidneys in urine.

The exhibit will open on Saturday, January 17 and will remain open until Sunday, May 3.
