Wild-Card Weekend is officially in the books. The NFL’s playoff bracket is set with the final eight teams still vying for a Super Bowl championship — and the Chicago Bears are very much in the mix.
After the Houston Texans dropped Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, the NFL announced the times and network coverage for the Divisional Round of postseason games. For the Bears, it will be a 5:30 p.m. CT start on NBC and Peacock. So mark your calendars, update your schedules, and clear your Sunday slate for football shenanigans. Mandatory Credit: David Banks-Imagn Images I saw this fun fact floating around about how Rams Head Coach Sean McVay has yet to play the same team twice in the playoffs. And upon further review, it is true. McVay’s coaching history has seen hims quare off against the Falcons (2017), Cowboys, Saints, and Patriots (2018), Seahawks and Packers (2020), Cardinals, Buccaneers, 49ers, and Bengals (2021), Lions (2023), Vikings and Eagles (2024), Panthers and Bears (2025). It would take a Bears win on Sunday night to keep this streak alive for another season. I love a quirky bit, so I’m rooting for this one to keep on keeping on. Lost in the madness of beating the Packers is the fact that Green Bay lost the discipline battle on Saturday night. The Packers had Sven penalties for 65 yards. On the other side of the coin, the Bears were called for just two penalties — and it cost just five yards. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. For as much as Chicago’s football team has been penalized throughout the year, it was encouraging to see them clean it up for the biggest game of the year. Now, they’ll have to do it again in the next version of the biggest game of the year. Every game moving forward needs to be treated with more scrutiny and attention to detail than the one that preceded it. Green Bay Packers players had some wild quotes as they gathered their things and went home for the offseason:Unreal quote from #Packers safety Javon Bullard. "There's two people: One guy that's gonna keep their foot on their neck & keep talk s**t. The other guy's going to put him out while he's down there. We have to be that team that's going to put people out when they're down there" pic.twitter.com/1Ho3booxhi

— Matt Schneidman (@mattschneidman) January 12, 2026 The words of a players whose two lasting images from this season are being beaten by DJ Moore in Week 16 and making a business decision against the Bears just weeks later: “I think I played really well this eyar. I accomplished all my goals, like I always tell you guys. Set the standard for myself, but I think I played really good this year.” I’m can’t say that Keisean Nixon isn’t talented. And you want your cornerbacks to be confident with a short memory. However, there is only so much delulu one can have before it warps their brain. Good luck dealing with that… Sure, NBC does a tremendous job producing Sunday Night Football. But I’ll miss having the FOX call with Tom Brady (can’t believe I’m writing these words!) because of what the future Hall of Fame quarterback brings to the table. This is a quality bit of broadcasting:Tom Brady explains the mechanics of throwing the football in heavy wind, which has been a major factor during 49ers-Eaglespic.twitter.com/UmrpVfMezl
— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) January 11, 2026 That is the type of insight that we could use when the Bears and Rams play on Sunday at Soldier Field. Here’s hoping that Cris Collinsworth brings his A-game. There is a non-zero chance that the last pass Aaron Rodgers throws in the NFL is this pick-six:What if this is the last pass Aaron Rodgers ever throws? pic.twitter.com/WT2D6PPWGU
— Bleacher Nation Bears (@BN_Bears) January 13, 2026 The line from what might be Aaron Rodgers’ final game as a pro QB: 17/33, 146 yards (4.4 yards/attempt), 0 TD, 1 INT, 50.8 passer rating. He took 4 sacks and 12 quarterback hits. Rodgers looked every bit of being a 42-year-old quarterback. It’s time to hang ’em up, old man! Watching the Bears beat the Packers and Aaron Rodgers intercepted to end the year made for a wonderful weekend. That, coupled with some really good chicken wings and quality cocktails, made for a superb stretch of days. But I suppose it’s time to turn our attention to the Rams.MORE BEARS FROM BLEACHER NATION: Go Ad-Free | Subscribe to the BN Newsletter
