Colston Loveland’s arrow continues to point upward.
The Chicago Bears rookie tight end was the team’s highest-graded player, according to Pro Football Focus’ estimations. Loveland caught eight passes, picked up 137 yards, and scored on an important two-point conversion that was crucial in the Bears’ win. His strong efforts were good enough to land a 90.5 grade from PFF.

© David Banks-Imagn ImagesLoveland’s receiving grade (90.1) came out as elite, while his run-blocking grade (76.1) was respectable. Sometimes, PFF grades don’t match the eye test (and vice versa). However, that was not the case in the Bears’ win on Wild Card Saturday. Loveland very much looked the part of a player who played well enough to earn a grade in the 90s.
And you’ve gotta love what Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had to say about Colston Loveland:

— Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears) January 11, 2026Caleb Williams on Colston Loveland:
“We got a home run with him. Something that coach said to me … everybody goes back to draft night and ‘why did we get Colston Loveland and why did we do this and why did we do that?’ … it’s Colston Loveland, you know what I mean? He’s one of the hardest workers on this team. He’s there late, he’s there early. … I’m excited for what’s to come. I’m excited for what we’ve got to show for these next couple of weeks and what’s to come in the future for our trust, our bond.”
I, too, am excited to see the future with Colston Loveland and Caleb Williams working together.
HIGHEST GRADED BEARS OFFENSIVE PLAYERS VS. PACKERS

On the other side of the ball, there was a bit of a surprise in terms of who secured the highest grade from Pro Football Focus. Frankly, after the first half of action, I didn’t think the Bears defense would have anyone with a grade worth discussing. But then the second half played out far more favorably than thie first half. Even still … I did not expect to see Grady Jarrett with the best player grade among Bears defenders after Saturday’s win.

The traditional box score from Saturday’s win credited Grady Jarrett with two solo tackles, one quarterback hit, and a forced fumble. Meanwhile, the PFF box score added a quarterback hurry and a defensive stop on his stat line. This has been a mostly disappointing year for Jarrett, who was a priority signing for Chicago’s front office after the Atlanta Falcons cut him in March. Jarrett brings a stabilizing veteran presence to the defensive line, which is nice. However, the Bears need more than that from a player who signed a deal that came with more than $27 million worth of guarantees.

Grady Jarrett, 79.2 Tyrique Stevenson, 77.2 Jalen Reeves-Maybin, 75.0 Dominique Robinson, 72.5 Montez Sweat, 70.0I’m surprised to see Austin Booker’s grade land at 53.2. His box score includes a sack, a quarterback hit, 3 hurries, and a pair of defensive stops. There were chunks of that game in which Booker was the only Bears defender making splash plays. Maybe it is because Booker plays against the Packers in a way that makes you think that Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love owed him lunch money, but his grade is one of those that doesn’t match what I saw with my own eyes.
